Aspirin and other NSAIDS were studied and data suggests that analgesic use increases the risk of Renal Cell Cancer. It was observed with a dose-response relationship based on duration of use.

Alcohol consumption appears to be strongly and dose-dependently linked to colorectal cancer risk, according to the findings of a new meta-analysis. There is strong evidence to support an association between alcohol drinking of more than 1 drink/day and the risk for colorectal cancer. Though these study did not highlight the presence of associated risk factors like smoking.

Giardia lamblia is a common cause of gastroenteritis worldwide, and more so in India but we know little about the long-term complications. Glamblia infection is linked to increased risks for IBS and chronic fatigue, according to the results of a study.

A recent review observed that with repeated hammering of pharma companies, doctors over prescribe medications. More judicious, rational, careful, or cautious prescribing should be encouraged. The clinicians should have the responsibility of selecting the most clinically effective and safe drug.

Since elderly population is increasing and ischemic heart disease being the leading cause of mortality. The number of patients with ACS and ACS-related morbidities will continue to increase as the proportion of older persons increases.
Because of the fear of complications like bleeding, this group are undertreated. A study with a focus on antiplatelet and antithrombotic therapies was carried out.
