Hypothyroidism is easy to treat and monitor. Hyperthyroidism is more complicated. Most family physicians refer cases of hyperthyroidism. If one takes detailed clinical history and follows established guidelines managing hyperthyroidism is as easy.

Though most primary care practitioners do not calculate BMI, discerning ones lament there is no way to calculate BMI in kids and teenagers. With increasing prevalence of obesity in children, it has become necessary that we calculate BMI of our overweight children.

Women are more likely than men to be referred for unnecessary nuclear stress tests, a new study contends.
A nuclear stress test, also called myocardial perfusion imaging.
U.S. researchers analyzed 314 nuclear stress tests to determine whether they met so-called appropriate use criteria, guidelines set by the American College of Cardiology Foundation to help doctors decide whether such testing would be beneficial. Nearly all of the tests had been ordered for chest pain.
