UCB has announced the launch of a new campaign designed to encourage and help sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to be more proactive about their disease management.

.Coinciding with World Arthritis Day, the company has introduced Get to Goal, a scheme that will encourage patients to create and achieve personal treatment objectives, with assistance from their clinicians.
.This ties in with European League against Rheumatism recommendations, which suggest that the model of creating goals and monitoring them over periods of three months could be as useful for RA patients as it has been for sufferers of diabetes, heart disease and other conditions.
.It also comes in response to a recent poll showing that the vast majority of RA patients want more control over their disease management, but are currently unaware of this “treat-to-target” approach.
.Professor Iris Loew-Friedrich, chief medical officer at UCB, said: The Get to Goal Campaign aims to help patients set goals and track them, which we know is something patients are looking for.
