Three leading U.S. cancer groups have proposed new guidelines for cervical cancer testing for women, including when to start screening for sexually active young women, extending intervals between screenings and in some cases, supplementing the traditional Pap test with human papilloma virus (HPV) testing.

Alternate Cytology Sensitive for Cervical Cancer

A study says that cervical cancer screening using liquid-based cytology is as sensitive as conventional cytology. HPV prevalence rate falls with age. Screening those who are at higher risk for cervical cancer or who have not been adequately screened should be the main focus. Team@CMHF
