Drug-Eluting Stents Safe in Renal Patients

Researchers have found that drug-eluting stents are safe to use in older patients, regardless of a patient’s kidney function. In the largest registry study to date that suggests that drug-eluting stents appear to be safe in older patients with varying levels of chronic kidney disease undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs).

Aspirin and other NSAIDS were studied and data suggests that analgesic use increases the risk of Renal Cell Cancer. It was observed with a dose-response relationship based on duration of use. Team@CMHF

PSA Testing: Why the U.S. and Europe Differ

Could PSA testing lead to overdiagnosis, thus unnecessarily subjecting men to the harms of treatment? The AUA supports prostate screening in men aged 40 years and older.
