Primary Care: What’s The Future?

Posted by: admin on: December 19, 2011

It is no more what family practice used to be in past. Family physician was considered next to God. With so many specialties coming up medical students find family practice less lucrative. Family practice is a specialty on its own and that should be emphasized.

The basis of primary care is helping people live happier and healthier. For the need of growing population we require more and more primary care doctors. There are lots of challenges in family practice and they are complex. There is a rapport with patients which makes the family doctor their friend, philosopher and guide. More medical students should be encouraged to take up primary care practice.
