- People get tested after the summer in September and thus the number increase at that time.
- Also the rate of cases with syphilis remains constant from last year, but gonorrhea seems to be on the rise. 245 cases so far this year, compared with 254 cases during all of 2009, and 430 cases last year.
- Gonorrhoea has increased a bit in recent years, it has probably spread a bit more in the group of young heterosexuals
- The Stockholm County Council, in cooperation with the Health Care Guide, and Stockholm South General Hospital, has since March 2010 been running a project aimed at home tests of Chlamydia.
- County residents are able to order a free testing kit on-line, perform a simple test at home and send it away for analysis a few days later they receive the result on the Internet.
- Around 250 people a week are doing the home test, and a total of more than 16,000 people have tested since the project started, about 6 per cent is found to have Chlamydia.
